Abstract
The investigation of depressive cognitions in children may offer a unique opportunity both to understand vulnerability in children and to explore the childhood precursors of depression in adults. The goal of this chapter is to examine the yield of the research on depression-related cognitions in children, and to consider the extent to which the opportunities for conceptual and clinical advancement have been met.
