Abstract
Much has been written about homosexuality. Male homosexuality, probably more than female homosexuality, has been defined and discussed from almost every conceivable position by writers interested in human and animal behavior. Psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, moralists, philosophers, educationalists, and geneticists, to list some of the commentators with all manner of views, have focused on homosexuality with an attention that few other topics have received. It is of interest to follow the changing patterns and fashions that have characterized the discussion of homosexuality over the decades (Karlen, 1971, offers a fine review in that regard). Today the study of human sexuality and particularly homosexuality remains a changing field and a topic of some controversy. Homosexuality is the focus of a range of current definitions and opinions, some less than more related to data.
