Abstract
During the compilation of this bibliography, I have read—or examined with a great degree of care—over 100 books and articles on scientific writing. The selections that follow are, in my opinion, among the most practical ones I have found. They were chosen for their potential usefulness to authors of clinical articles as well as to those who would write for journals like Family Medicine, which are more academically and theoretically oriented. The selections reflect my biases and ideas of what is useful. Inevitably, many other valuable and informative books and articles have been omitted; this is intended to be no judgment on their merits but rather it is the result of space constraints.
