Pride

  • Chapter
Emotion Concepts

Abstract

One theme that I will be concerned with in this chapter is what it means for experience to be metaphorical and to be metaphorically real. This is an important issue for my purposes because one of the claims that I make in this book is that emotional experience is to a large extent metaphorical and metaphorically real. I will try to demonstrate what this means by using the notion of enhancement, which forms an integral part of our notion of pride.
