Abstract

In this section, we will present four longitudinal data sets previously described in the medical or statistical literature. Each of them will be analyzed using linear mixed models, and we will illustrate how such models often yield additional insight into the data. All calculations will be performed with SAS procedures and therefore, none of the model checks or diagnostic tools discussed in Section 3.13 will be used.
