Abstract
Proper repair of vaginal vault prolapse, whether occurring in conjunction with uterine prolapse or years after hysterectomy, will restore vaginal position, axis, and function. Conservative measures, such as pessaries or colpocleisis may be useful in a small subset of women who are not surgical candidates, but are not likely to be appropriate in most active women presenting for evaluation. Surgical procedures offer the best hope of a permanent correction, and several techniques have been described, both abdominal and vaginal.1,2.
