Background

A case study is presented on prognostic modelling in patients with moderate and severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Individual patient data from several studies were available to quantify predictor effects and to develop and validate prognostic models. Missing values were a key issue, since few studies recorded all predictors of interest. The use of single and multiple imputation methods is illustrated with a detailed description of the analyses in R software.
