Abstract
Optimal athletic shoe fit and function depends on a number of factors, including foot type, biomechanical foot function, the type of sport, socks, as well as shoe lacing. Athletic shoelaces and lacing patterns are often overlooked, but can enhance better shoe fit and function as well as help minimize painful conditions of the foot.
