Abstract

Webs are mucosal folds that are usually thin, but occasionally thick; they most commonly occur on the anterior wall of the cervical esophagus (1–4). These may be incidental and nonobstructive or deeper and circumferential, causing narrowing of the lumen. Radiographi-cally they are seen as discrete, shelflike defects 1 to 2mm thick (Figure 7.1).
