Summary and Conclusion
Individuals with AS/HFA have good potential for learning the skills and knowledge necessary to function as productive, contented adults. To achieve this potential, they require substantial amounts of special instruction, understanding, acceptance, and modification of environmental expectations to accommodate their special needs. Those who teach and care for them must understand the disorder, understand the individual, and be both flexible and thorough in designing plans to accommodate their needs.
