9. Cardiothoracale beeldvorming

Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk richten we ons op drie categorieën van de cardiothoracale beeldvorming in de klinische praktijk, namelijk longembolie, sarcoïdose en pijn op de borst. De categorieën worden behandeld naar aanleiding van het bespreken van een drietal klinische casus. Beeldvormende diagnostiek speelt een belangrijke rol bij patiënten met klachten van cardiothoracale origine, zoals pijn-op-de-borstklachten. De keuze voor het type onderzoek is sterk afhankelijk van de klinische gegevens (geslacht, leeftijd en klachten) en heeft te maken met de diagnostische waarde van een specifieke test die afhankelijk is van de techniek, patiëntenpopulatie en lokale expertise.
