The issue of integration for children with developmental problems has been high on the agenda in the US ever since President Ford introduced the Education for All Handicapped Children Act in 1975 (see, e.g.: Meisel 1986). The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (1990) subsequently extended this initiative to cover those with both Autism Spectrum Disorders and Traumatic Brain Injury. This volume, written by an Associate Professor and an Emeritus Professor at Sam Houston State University in Texas, provides an overview of many of the issues around inclusive education. The book is aimed at early childhood teachers. It provides a clear and up-to-date précis of the issues around early mainstream inclusion for children with a variety of neurodevelopmental difficulties. …
