Samenvatting

Het sporten voor mensen met een verstandelijke handicap kan zich verheugen in een groeiende belangstelling. Hoewel er nog onvoldoende aandacht aan besteed wordt, is de deelname van sporters met een verstandelijke handicap aan georganiseerde sporten de laatste jaren duidelijk toegenomen. Voor de huisarts betekent dit dat hij of zij steeds vaker vragen zal krijgen over sport en bewegen bij mensen met een verstandelijke handicap.
