Bekkenfysiotherapie bij mictieproblematiek van vrouwen en mannen

Samenvatting

De huisarts speelt een belangrijke rol in het signaleren van mictieproblematiek bij mannen en bij vrouwen. Slechts een deel van de patiënten vindt de weg naar de bekkenfysiotherapie. In dit artikel wordt ingegaan op de mictieproblematiek bij vrouwen en mannen. Niet alleen de urine-incontinentie, maar ook andere problemen zoals LUTS bij mannen en recidiverende blaasontstekingen kunnen indicaties zijn voor bekkenfysiotherapie. In combinatie met de mictieproblematiek komen vaak prolapsklachten, defecatieproblematiek en seksuele disfuncties voor. Hierbij speelt de bekkenfysiotherapie ook een belangrijke rol. In dit artikel worden de behandelmogelijkheden van de bekkenfysiotherapie beschreven.
