Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft enkele therapeutische modellen die bij de behandeling van eetstoornissen worden gebruikt. Sommige zijn volgens de meeste richtlijnen eerstekeuzebehandeling, andere worden gebruikt als stoornisgerichte behandelingen zoals CBT-E of MANTRA niet of onvoldoende werken. De verschillende cognitief-gedragstherapeutische varianten voor eetstoornissen (CBT-ED) leggen de focus op de zogenaamde kernpathologie van eetstoornissen waarbij de overwaardering van lichaamsvorm en gewicht voorop staan. DGT, schematherapie en de psychodynamische therapieën richten zich op de onderliggende persoonlijkheidsproblematiek en gebrekkige emotieregulatie. De niet-CGT-behandelingen maken intussen wel gebruik van specifieke interventies voor het eetgedrag.

In het Nederlands bestaat er geen goede vertaling voor CBT-ED, zodat we voor de duidelijkheid de Engelse term gebruiken als het specifiek om CGT voor eetstoornissen gaat.
