Behandeling van astma bij kinderen

Samenvatting

Uijen H. Behandeling van astma bij kinderen. Huisarts Wet 2011;54(8): 436-8.
De richtlijnen bevelen ter behandeling van kinderen met astma het gebruik van bronchusverwijders en corticosteroïden aan. In het algemeen volgen Nederlandse huisartsen de aanbevelingen trouw, al zijn zij nogal behoudend met het voorschrijven van medicijnen, met name corticosteroïden.
Aan de inhalatietechniek en de therapietrouw van de patiënten valt nog veel te verbeteren. Meegeven van schriftelijke uitleg en meer betrekken van de ouders bij de inhalatie-instructie zouden hier uitkomst kunnen bieden.
