19. Autotransplantaties: stand van zaken

Abstract

Autotransplantatie van gebitselementen kent een zeer rijke geschiedenis. Het wordt gedefinieerd als de beweging van een gebitselement van de ene regio in de mond naar een andere bij hetzelfde individu. Het (niet-)geërupteerde donorgebitselement wordt overgebracht naar een extractieplaats of chirurgisch geprepareerde alveole. Autotransplantatie is een biologische benadering, aangezien de alveolaire groei niet wordt gecompromitteerd en het gebitselement over een normaal parodontaal ligament beschikt.
