154. Asymmetrische bilplooi/heupdysplasie

Samenvatting

Een asymmetrische bilplooi bij een zuigeling kan een aanwijzing zijn voor heupluxatie. Er is dan een extra bilplooi aan één zijde. Vooral als deze extra plooi zich dicht bij het perineum bevindt, is de kans op heupluxatie vergroot. Heupluxatie, waarbij de femurkop uit het acetabulum ligt, is de ernstigste vorm van heupdysplasie, ook wel ‘Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip’ (DDH) genoemd.
