54. Artrose van het CMC-I-gewricht

Samenvatting

Bij CMC-I-artrose, ook wel huisvrouwenduim, is er sprake van klachten van de duimbasis als gevolg van degeneratieve veranderingen aan het carpometacarpale (CMC-)gewricht. Artrose van het CMC-I-gewricht (ook wel trapeziometacarpaal gewricht) is na artrose aan het DIP-gewricht van de wijsvinger de meest voorkomende artrose onder de handgewrichten. Er ontstaat pijn, progressieve standsafwijking, krachtsvermindering en bewegingsbeperking, waardoor eenvoudige taken, zoals het draaien van sleutels en deurknoppen en het openen van potten, moeizamer worden.
