8 Arteriepunctie

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk behandelt de arteriepunctie. Het gaat hierbij om een eenmalige punctie van de arteria radialis ter plaatse van de pols. De arteria radialis is verreweg de meest gebruikte plaats voor een arteriepunctie, omdat deze arterie makkelijk voor punctie bereikbaar is en nadien goed af te drukken is. Uiteraard kan arteriepunctie ook plaatsvinden in andere arteriën, zoals de arteria brachialis in de bovenarm of de arteria femoralis in de lies, maar dit valt buiten de strekking van dit hoofdstuk.
