27. Analyse van het handelen

Samenvatting

‘Handelen’ is een complex en multidimensionaal begrip, dat vanuit verschillende invalshoeken belicht kan worden. Een analyse van het handelen is dan ook niet eenvoudig maar het is wel mogelijk het handelen ‘uit elkaar te trekken’ of ‘in stukjes te hakken’ om het goed te begrijpen. Analyse van het handelen is één van de ‘gereedschappen’ die ergotherapeuten hebben om samen met de cliënt vragen, toekomstige uitdagingen maar ook knelpunten in het handelen proberen te begrijpen. Analyse van het handelen is dan ook een onderdeel van het methodisch denken en handelen. Het draagt er aan bij om het handelen therapeutisch, of effectief in te kunnen zetten. De analyse van het handelen kan gezien worden als een proces met vijf stappen: (1) bespreken en selecteren van één betekenisvolle activiteit binnen het dagelijkse handelen; (2) inzicht krijgen door alle dimensies van het handelen binnen de geselecteerde betekenisvolle activiteit te bespreken en te beredeneren; (3) observeren van alle dimensies van het handelen bij het daadwerkelijk uitvoeren van de betekenisvolle activiteit; (4) analyseren van bevorderende en belemmerende aspecten in het handelen; (5) Verder gaan met het methodisch handelen en kijken naar de vervolgstappen. Dit stapsgewijze proces is bedoeld als hulpmiddel om handelen systematisch, zo veel mogelijk in samenwerking met de cliënt, te analyseren. Naarmate de ervaring in de praktijk groeit, wordt de ‘analyse van het handelen’ steeds sneller en vaak ook implicieter.
