Samenvatting

De term ‘shin splints’ werd lange tijd gebruikt voor iedere vorm van pijn aan de schenen die ontstaat na inspanning, waarbij compartimentsyndromen en stressfracturen volgens sommigen wel, en volgens anderen niet hieronder vielen.1,3 Tegenwoordig wordt ‘shin splints’ gezien als de lekenterm voor wat (para)medici mediaal tibiaal stresssyndroom

Het midden van de weg is hoger dan de kant van de weg. Dit heeft te maken met de afwatering.

Paresthesie = stoornis in de gevoelswaarneming waarbij – zonder dat er sprake is van prikkelingen – kriebelingen, jeuk of tintelingen worden waargenomen.18
