Samenvatting

Wisselende belasting is goed voor de voeding en kwaliteit van gewrichtskraakbeen. Voldoende lichaamsbeweging is dan ook een voorwaarde om de kwaliteit van het kraakbeen te onderhouden. Een aanzienlijk deel van de bevolking krijgt lichaamsbeweging door het beoefenen van een of andere vormvan sport. Tijdens sportactiviteiten kunnen echter ook blessures ontstaan. De vraag is wat de optimale dosering is voor sporten: wanneer is sprake van gezonde lichaamsbeweging en wanneer is sprake van overbelasting met risico op beschadiging van de gewrichten?
