Abstract

Het abdominaal compartimentsyndroom (ACS) komt op de IC veel vaker voor dan wordt gedacht. De symptomen worden vaak niet tijdig herkend waardoor de behandeling te laat wordt ingezet. Hierdoor overlijden jaarlijks wereldwijd duizenden patiënten aan de gevolgen van dit syndroom. In dit artikel beschreven we hoe de symptomen van het ACS kunnen worden herkend en hoe hier in de praktijk mee om wordt gegaan.
