Samenvatting

Een Braziliaanse groep neurowetenschappers (Moll et al., 2014) beschreef kortgeleden hoe gevoelens van tederheid en affectie, opgeroepen door herinneringen aan troost of prettige contacten, via neurofeedback kunnen worden versterkt. Ze leiden tot toenemende empathie. De proefpersonen moesten herinneringen ophalen aan prettige situaties en kregen meteen feedback van de fmri: hoe meer een gebied ging ‘stralen’, hoe sterker kennelijk de gevoelens werden.
