8 Bloedvergiftiging/lymfangitis

Samenvatting

Lymfangitis is een ontsteking van de subcutane lymfevaten door verspreiding van micro-organismen vanuit een distale huidlaesie of -infectie. Lymfangitis is zichtbaar als een rode streeptekening in de huid. In de volksmond wordt dit ‘bloedvergiftiging’ genoemd. Er kan uitbreiding optreden naar regionale lymfeklierstations, wat aanleiding kan geven tot lymfadenopathie dan wel lymfadenitis.
