Samenvatting

Verstandskiezen komen bij ongeveer 75% van de bevolking in boven- en onderkaak voor. Een patiënt kan er vier, drie, twee of een hebben en zelfs vierde molaren worden gezien. Tot voor kort werd ervan uitgegaan dat alle verstandskiezen een potentieel risico vormen en dat ze dus verwijderd dienen te worden.
