Samenvatting

  • Informatie over het feitelijk handelen maakt duidelijk waarop de implementatie zich moet richten: waar liggen de grootste problemen en waar valt de meeste winst te behalen?
  • Voor het ontwikkelen van valide en betrouwbare indicatoren is een zorgvuldige en systematische procedure noodzakelijk; verschillende methoden zijn hiervoor beschikbaar.
  • Het vaststellen van een benchmark kan motiveren om aan verbetering te werken.
  • Case mix-correctie toepassen op de kwaliteitsscore is nodig, maar kan ook prikkelverlagend werken.
  • Op basis van de feedback over scores op indicatoren kunnen concrete verbeterdoelen worden geformuleerd, die planmatig moeten worden aangepakt en getoetst wat betreft het bereikte resultaat.
  • Kwaliteits- en veiligheidsindicatoren worden idealiter ingebed in samenhangende ‘kwaliteitssystemen’.
