7 Juveniele parodontitis

Samenvatting

Het klinisch beeld van wat wij tegenwoordig juveniele parodontitis noemen, is al heel lang bekend. Het werd onder andere beschreven door Hunter in 1802 en Fox in 1823. Net zoals vele latere auteurs, vermeldden ook zij dat de parodontale afbraak plaatsvindt in afwezigheid van gingivitis. In 1923 gebruikte Gottlieb de term ‘diffuse atrofie van het alveolaire bot’ voor hetzelfde klinische beeld.
