Samenvatting

Postprandiale of reactieve hypoglykemie is een klinisch syndroom dat bestaat uit onwelbevinden, onrust, transpireren, trillen, duizeligheid en andere onaangename verschijnselen na een maaltijd. De symptomen worden toegeschreven aan hypoglykemie, een te laag bloedglucosegehalte. Hypoglykemie wordt niet eensluidend gedefinieerd, maar veneuze bloedglucosespiegels tussen 2,5-3,3 mmol/l wijzen sterk op hypoglykemie, terwijl waarden lager dan 2,5 mmol/l indicatief zijn voor belangrijke pathologie.1
