Samenvatting

De afgelopen tien jaar hebben onderzoekers en behandelaren steeds meer aandacht gekregen voor modellen van psychopathologie die op schema’s zijn gebaseerd (bijvoorbeeld Riso, Du Toit, Stein & Young, 2007). Naar aanleiding van deze belangstelling zijn enkele instrumenten ontwikkeld om schema’s inhoudelijk en procesmatig te meten. Sommige worden expliciet gepresenteerd als maten van schema’s (onder andere de verschillende uitvoeringen van de YSQ), andere worden gepresenteerd als maten voor de opvattingen die gewoonlijk met schema’s samengaan zoals de EDBQ-NSB van Cooper (1997) en weer andere worden gepresenteerd als maten van de kernopvattingen die op schemaniveau samenhangen met de persoonlijkheidsstoornissen (bijvoorbeeld de PBQ van Beck & Beck, 1991).

De YSQ is er in verschillende edities, waarvan sommige met elkaar vergelijkbaar zijn gebleken (onder andere Stopa, Thorne, Waters & Preston, 2001; Waller, Meyer & Ohanian, 2001). Wanneer de auteurs van dit hoofdstuk het over dit instrument hebben, wordt daarom de generieke term ‘YSQ’ gebruikt en wordt alleen de versie genoemd als dat relevant is.
