34 Vitiligo

Samenvatting

Vitiligo is een benigne, verworven, idiopathische, hypomelanotische huidaandoening, die geleidelijk progressief is. Doordat de melanocyten in de dermis verdwijnen, verliezen huid en haren hun pigment en ontstaan er melkwitte, onregelmatige, scherp begrensde plekken van verschillende grootte, vaak met een gehyperpigmenteerde rand. Vitiligo kan gegeneraliseerd voorkomen of beperkt blijven tot een lokale vorm. Spontane repigmentatie komt voor, maar het herstel is meestal onvolledig en cosmetisch niet fraai.
