Samenvatting

Gynaecologische infecties zijn soms oorzaak van ernstige pathologie zoals genitale kanker en infertiliteit. De infecties worden gezien en behandeld door zowel de huisarts als de gynaecoloog. Voor de definitieve diagnose is vaak aanvullend laboratoriumonderzoek noodzakelijk. Voor de diagnostiek en behandeling van SOA bestaan landelijke richtlijnen.
