Samenvatting

Een onychomycose of schimmelinfectie van de nagel (‘kalknagel’) is de meest voorkomende aandoening van de nagel.1 Het is een infectie aan een of meer nagels door schimmels of gisten van het nagelbed, die een karakteristieke geel-witte verkleuring van de nagelplaat geeft met distale loslating van de nagel, subunguale hyperkeratose of totale nageldystrofie.2
