21 Evaluatie van implementatieprojecten: observationele evaluaties

Samenvatting

  • Een gerandomiseerd expertiment is het beste studiedesign voor het vaststellen van de effectiviteit van implementatiestrategieën, maar dit design is niet altijd uitvoerbaar.
  • Observationele evaluaties kunnen inzicht geven in het verloop, de uitkomsten en (mogelijke) determinanten van veranderingsprocessen. Het toeschrijven van bereikte resultaten aan een specifieke interventie is meestal niet mogelijk in deze evaluaties.
  • Observationele evaluaties zijn beschrijvend (dwarsdoorsnedestudie, gevalstudie en ontwikkelingsstudie) of vergelijkend (studie met enkele grote clusters, cohortstudie met referentiegroep en cohortstudie zonder referentiegroep).
  • De data-analyse in observationele evaluaties is vaak complex.
