2 De indicaties voor een partiële gebitsprothese

Samenvatting

● Door de vele mogelijkheden om het gebit te behouden, eventueel met kronen en bruggen, al dan niet implantaatgedragen, ligt de indicatie voor een partiële gebitsprothese tegenwoordig primair bij patiënten met klachten over ontbrekende gebitselementen in de esthetische zone die niet op een andere manier kunnen worden verholpen. Daarnaast is een partiële gebitsprothese geïndiceerd bij patiënten met een extreem verkorte tandboog, bij grote en/of multipele diastemen, bij patiënten met ernstige parodontitis of excessief kaakbotverlies, bij patiënten met fysieke of emotionele problemen, als tussenoplossing op weg naar edentaat zijn, als tijdelijke oplossing in afwachting van uitgebreide behandelingen en bij patiënten die zich de alternatieve behandelingen financieel niet kunnen permitteren.
