Samenvatting

Sarcopenie kan in de meeste gevallen voorkómen of behandeld worden door regelmatige krachttraining of het beoefenen van een sport waarbij spieren herhaaldelijk bijna maximaal worden belast.

1-RM = 1 repetition maximum = 1 herhalingsmaximum , ofwel het gewicht dat nét eenmaal in een vloeiende beweging over het gehele bewegingstraject kan worden verplaatst. 10-RM is dus het gewicht dat maximaal tienmaal kan worden verplaatst.
