11b Pijn en pijnbestrijding

Samenvatting

Een neonatale intensive-care-behandeling en -omgeving hebben grote invloed op de pasgeborene en zijn ontwikkeling. De intensieve behandeling en de daaruit voortkomende zorgactiviteiten veroorzaken, naast verstorende omstandigheden vanuit de omgeving zoals licht en geluid, veel pijn, stress en discomfort. Het resultaat is dat er lange perioden ontstaan zonder rust en ongestoorde slaap voor de (preterme) pasgeborene.
