Samenvatting

Het aantal volwassenen, maar vooral het aantal kinderen, met een klinisch manifeste allergie is dramatisch gestegen over de laatste decades. Het wordt algemeen aangenomen dat er een daadwerkelijke toename in de prevalentie van allergie heeft plaatsgevonden naast een toename in de (vroegtijdige) herkenning van allergische symptomen.
