The past several decades have seen impressive advances in knowledge about psychological and pharmacological interventions for an array of childhood psychiatric conditions. The field now has effective interventions spanning internalizing, externalizing, and psychotic spectrum disorders, as well as knowledge about outcome moderators and mediators to help personalize intervention. While considerably more needs to be done in this space, including treatment enhancement and dissemination, progress is clear and of a positive trajectory. Particularly in the state of literature for children, appreciation of the role of family in treatment has continued to emerge with parents playing important roles as supporters, co- or primary-therapists, and mechanistic targets (e.g., family accommodation). …
