Samenvatting

Een jongen van elf jaar, afkomstig uit Oost-Europa, werd opgenomen op een afdeling in een kinderpsychiatrisch centrum met een bijzonder psychiatrisch toestandsbeeld. Hij was apathisch, sprak niet meer en lag vrijwel de gehele dag in bed. De problematiek bleek het beste te definiëren als het Pervasive Refusal Syndrome, een stoornis, voor het eerst beschreven door Bryan Lask in 1991. De diagnostiek en de behandeling van Dimitrii werd een interessante zoektocht.
