The Fear of Child Sexuality: Young People, Sex, and Agency is a comprehensive look into a series of child sex and sexualization panics, mainly set in Australia. Steven Angelides, the author of the book, uses different social issues to provide support for his argument of childhood sexuality and the idea of the sexual child being under erasure. Overall, this book effectively achieved its purpose and provides a unifying framework to help the reader better understand how child sex panics often are used as a strategy to avoid and displace the idea of child sexuality. This book also provides historical context to how these different panics have been used to deny and ignore child sexuality. …
