ADHD behandelen met een computergame

Abstract

Er is grote behoefte aan nieuwe behandelmethodieken voor kinderen met ADHD bij wie medicatie niet of slechts gedeeltelijk werkt of bij wie psychosociale interventies nog ruimte voor verbetering laten. Er is bovendien naast de beschikbare methoden voor de ouders en leerkrachten van de kinderen met ADHD grote behoefte aan een methodiek die op het kind zelf is gericht en waarbij het kind zelf kan leren zijn of haar ADHD-probleemgedrag te reguleren, op een manier die voor deze kinderen aansprekend is. Het gebruik van een computergame biedt nieuwe en interessante mogelijkheden.
