Samenvatting

Alle organen in het lichaam zijn voor een goede functie afhankelijk van voldoende toevoer van zuurstof en voedingsstoffen. Het centrale zenuwstelsel (CZS) vormt hierop geen uitzondering. Dat is de reden dat bij een noodsituatie allereerst aandacht wordt besteed aan de ‘vitale functies’ ademhaling en bloedcirculatie.

De laatste twee acties worden pas gedaan wanneer de patiënt naar verwachting hersendood is.

Een verpleegkundige doet dit niet als onderzoekstest.

Dit wordt niet uitgevoerd door een verpleegkundige.
