Samenvatting

Onder damage control chirurgie, ook wel damage control surgery (DCS) genoemd, wordt de gefaseerde aanpak verstaan die bij de behandeling van een ernstig gewonde patiënt puur gericht is op levensreddende ingrepen en het voorkomen van (ernstig) infectieuze complicaties (zie figuur 50.1).
