Samenvatting

Somatisatie is een verschijnsel dat een belangrijke rol speelt bij het begrijpen van ingewikkelde lichamelijke klachten. In dit hoofdstuk gaan we in op de betekenis van het begrip en op verwante begrippen. Met name bij lichamelijk onverklaarde klachten blijkt dat lichamelijke en psychische factoren samenspelen in de klachtenpresentatie. Er zal worden ingegaan op de implicaties voor diagnostiek en behandeling door de fysiotherapeut, waarbij gepleit wordt voor een multidisciplinair perspectief.
