Samenvatting

In dit artikel wordt stilgestaan bij het belang van het thema verlies en verdriet in psychoanalytische therapie. Het artikel ‘Rouw en melancholie’ van Sigmund Freud uit 1917 wordt geëvalueerd in het licht van actuele psychoanalytische visies over rouw. Een casus wordt besproken over gestagneerde pathologische rouw, die beschouwd wordt vanuit de visie van Bion.
