Evidence-based behandelen van angst en depressie

Het belang van therapeutische competentie in de praktijk

Samenvatting

Er zijn belangrijke initiatieven om evidence-based behandelingen te verspreiden in de klinische praktijk. Toch ontbreekt een cruciale schakel: de focus op de competentie van de therapeut. In dit artikel belichten we het concept van therapeutische competentie en bespreken we de opmars van uitkomstonderzoek naar competenties. Zo blijkt competentie een cruciale variabele te zijn voor therapiesucces. Op grond van deze gegevens pleiten de auteurs voor een sterkere focus op het trainen van specifieke interventies, zowel tijdens psychologieopleidingen als bij vervolgopleidingen.
