5. Effectiviteit van behandelingen bij chronische lage rugpijn

Inleiding

De basis van dit hoofdstuk wordt gevormd door de systematische literatuuronderzoeken die in het kader van de Cochrane Back Review Group1 zijn uitgevoerd, een viertal reviews die in opdracht van het College van Zorgverzekeringen zijn uitgevoerd naar behandelingen voor chronische lage rugklachten2,5 en een recente systematische review naar alternatieve en complementaire behandelingen voor rugklachten6. Deze literatuuronderzoeken zijn aangevuld met gerandomiseerde effectonderzoeken (gerandomiseerde gecontroleerde trials of RCT’s) als die niet in deze literatuuronderzoeken waren opgenomen.
