A vulnerable population

Do you provide good care for people with learning difficulties? If the Healthcare Commission is right, then not enough nurses can answer ‘yes’ to this question. That is why it has come up with a three-year strategic plan to create equal access to health services in England for those who have a learning difficulty. Currently one of the most deprived and excluded populations in the UK, these patients are still largely ‘invisible and vulnerable’, says the commission in a document that is out for consultation until January 31.
